what were we thinking

My Dad, sweet, sweet, soul, was approved by the University he works for to take a sabbatical in Australia to do research for his department at the University of Melbourne.

How fun for the rest of us.

After not much convincing, my mom said, "We're doing this." and proceeded to mentally and physically prepare to pack and move her family of 7 (including me) (not including two older sisters) to a different continent more than 16,000 miles away.

The chips did not fall into place and havoc was caused. Chaos ensued. But never fear, super parents to the rescue. I complained about having to pack all my belongings in two suitcases and a carry on, and my parents worried about the living expenses and feeding 7 mouths with Vegemite for a year and the toll it may have on our physical well being.

This is the experience of a lifetime for our family. And I'm lucky to have a mom who recognized that fact and hardly hesitated to grab the opportunity.

So here we are, heading out on the wildest adventure and forcing our way through the influx of poisonous spiders.

It's one for all, and all for one.
